7th Annual Brick City Beer and Wine Festival Cancelled Amid Coronavirus Concerns
The seventh annual Brick City Beer and Wine Festival, presented by the World Equestrian Center, will be permanently canceled due to coronavirus concerns and the need to keep our community safe and practicing social distancing. The event was initially scheduled to be held Saturday, April 11, from 2 pm to 8 pm at Citizens’ Circle at 151 SE Osceola Avenue; however, it was moved to June 13 in response to the statewide shutdown that occurred during March and April. After much consideration, the Beer and Wine Festival Committee has decided it is best to cancel the event entirely for 2020.
Brick City Beer and Wine festival committee explained, “we struggled with the decision to cancel this much-loved community event, Brick City Beer and Wine Festival. After much discussion with sponsors, the City of Ocala, Wind-FM, and vendors, we realized that to protect the overall health of our community, we feel it is in the best interest of our community to cancel the event and begin planning for a bigger and better festival for 2021. We want to take the time to thank our presenting sponsor, the World Equestrian Center. With their sponsorship and the sponsorship of others, we were able to donate $4,000 to each of the three benefiting charities.”
This annual event is hosted by the Ocala-Silver Springs Rotary Club and the Ocala-Sunset Rotary. Proceeds benefit Interfaith Emergency Services, Marion County Literacy Council, and Kimberly’s Center for Child Protection. Please save the date for the 2021 Festival on April 3, 2021!
